Senior Prom: No T-Shirts? No Problem.

Wednesday, February 24, 2010 @ 3:26 PM

If you are a high school student, it's time to start thinking about prom!

Prom is the most exciting event of your high school years. Most schools have their prom in April or May but the planning and preparation start months before. The word "prom" has a much different meaning for me now that I have experienced it compared to when I was in high school. Like any other teenage girl I started getting ready for prom a month or two before it actually happened. My friends and I shopped for hours looking for the perfect dress. We searched in magazines to find ideas for our hair up-dos and tried versions of them out on each other...even though it never actually looked remotely similar to the picture. The prom finally came and we all had a great night. Now I look at prom and laugh at the money I spent on my dress which I will never wear again. The best thing about prom was the memories that my friends and I shared getting ready and hanging out after prom. Pictures are great but a prom t-shirt brings back all of the great memories you had. T-shirts Capture Moments in Time like nothing else. Whether it is for your prom or for your senior, junior, sophomore, or freshman class, tees are timeless reminders of all the best moments in life.

So start looking ahead to those special end-of-school events, like prom, and think about what you would put on a t-shirt to remember it by. We will print your design to a Tee!

Small Changes, Big Impacts

Wednesday, February 17, 2010 @ 3:06 PM

It's Wednesday and I (Hannah the Intern) would like to annouce the CreateMyTee office has decided to take steps towards decreasing it's carbon footprint! Here are a few simple, constructive ways we (and you) can start reducing our carbon shoe size without bashing the budget.

  1. The Three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Buy less, reuse and fix things when you can.
  2. Pay attention to packaging. Bring your own bag to the store. We re-use each box our garments arrive in. Please recycle or reuse the box your apparel arrives in.
  3. Ditch bottled water. Buy a reusable water bottle or canteen for your water.
  4. Go native. Use native plant species to landscape around your home or business. If anything, plant something, anything — it helps.
  5. Unplug it! Unplug appliances that you don't use frequently.
  6. Chuck your microwave. Okay, this is a bit drastic. Cook fresh food when you can, and you'll also find yourself eating out less often.
  7. Use cold water. Not in the shower... in the washer. It takes a lot of energy to heat water — multiply that by the number of loads, and your footprint just got bigger.
  8. Buy organic and local. Our shirts are purchased in our local state of Michigan and buy and offer organic or "fair trade" apparel.

Talk to you next Wednesday!

CreateMyTee Rep Spotlight: Heather Riecker, Albion College

Thursday, February 11, 2010 @ 1:10 PM

It's no secret that our Reps are the backbone of our success.  Not only do they deal with our customers on a personal level, they help us to build a brand from scratch on their campuses or in their regions.  They are our greatest asset, and for that, we would like to show our appreciation for them by introducing them to you, our customers!

Heather Riecker

Our first Spotlight Rep, Heather Riecker, is currently a junior at Albion College where she is studying Business and Communications. Heather has stepped up as our top Rep in 2010.  In the past six weeks, Heather has already collected an astonishing 17 orders!

In case you were wondering, Heather is addicted to cheese pizza and wears her "Fire Up Brits" tee (a CreateMyTee exclusive) every Tuesday.  She attributes her success as a Rep to making her presence known on her campus.  Her number one tactic for success is to personally assist her customers while placing an order.... It appears to be working!

Heather aspires to be "as cool as the people from CreateMyTee" when she graduates in 2011.  While this is a major feat, we'd like to think she is well on her way to achieving her dream.  When asked what her favorite aspect of being a Rep was, Heather said "(The job) is really fun, and the people at CreateMyTee aren't that bad either!"  Thanks, Heather, you aren't so bad yourself!
